The festive season is almost upon us and this year, it feels even more special because we are allowed to actually go out and celebrate! With the ever changing rules last christmas due to the circumstances (let’s not dwell on the past) it was virtually impossible to enjoy the festive season to its full potential. So, with lots of people using this year to enjoy double the celebrations (which means double the plans) we now need a variety of makeup looks to put together. And if you are anything like me, I can’t be bothered with anything too time consuming. We all probably wish we could do makeup as well as makeup artists could, as well as the fact they have access to wholesale makeup so they can create any look possible!

So let’s explore ways to add a little spin to our everyday makeup looks in order to add a little ‘Christmas spirit’.

Add A Red Lip

I don’t know about you, but I find a red lip can be quite intimidating to use if you aren’t an avid wearer. As we all know, red lipstick takes a lot of maintenance and it can be lethal for staining, especially if you are wearing white! However red is a colour that many of us think of when we think of Christmas so although a daunting thought, it is a simple way to add a little festive spirit to your look without having to take any drastic measures. The perfect look for Christmas drinks or a nice meal as it is a more subtle approach to making your makeup look more ‘Christmassy’.

Smokey Eye

The smokey eye has been a classic makeup look for years and it always looks elegant no matter what time of year. However when Christmas is on the way, a smokey eye is the perfect way to change up your makeup look without stepping too far out of your comfort zone. Why not try adding a little more sparkle to your smokey eye with a little gold or silver glitter? because after all, glitter and sparkles is what Christmas is all about!

Glitter Eyeliner

Now, I know this one sounds a little more complicated, but for the more experienced makeup artists among us, this is such a great idea. It is not as much of an investment as a full on glitter eye but it still adds the hint of sparkle you need at Christmas time! Pick either a gold or a silver and take it away, this could be a great option for a work Christmas party as it adds a subtle Christmas spirit to your look without looking like you went too overboard.

Glitter cut crease

Again, this is probably another look for the more proficient makeup artists, but if you are able to do this, it is such a good idea and it will certainly step up your game for the Christmas period. This could also be a way to add a little extra to the smokey eye that was mentioned earlier in the article, as you could use smokey colours with a gold or silver cut crease to add the extra sparkle. This would be a great option for a dressier Christmas event such as a Christmas party or a Christmas night out as it will really add the festive glam to your makeup.

Did this help?

Hopefully this was helpful in aiding you with some simple tips to add a little spice to your makeup looks this Christmas, because after all we need to make the most of this Christmas, because after the events of last year, we deserve it!
